Give an insight of your design concept:
I was inspired by the iconic eccentric, Marchesa Luisa Casati (1881 – 1957), famed for her macabre make-up of a death-white face accentuated with kohl-ringed eyes dilated with the poison belladonna. Black, silver and violet colors and black feathers were utilized to reflect the mystical life of the sorcerer Marchesa, who lived an active lifestyle during the night. She is most notably known for her midnight strolls with her pet cheetahs through St. Mark’s Square, in Venice, her body perfectly nude and white. The play with zigzag lines resembles a maze, depicting the danger of being trapped within the dark lady’s evil black magic, but at the same time seductive, revealing hints of skin.
