Requirement for participation
Only students who are enrolled at a design school that cooperates with Triumph for the Triumph Inspiration Award can enter the global design competition. In addition, they students need to be in at least the second year of their studies.
Modus operandi & deadlines
Triumph offers the participating schools to either integrate the Triumph Inspiration Award into their curriculum or let the competition proceed extra-curricular. Moreover, each country has the choice to either cooperate with one design school exclusively or involve several different schools for the National Final. Hence, there are different paths student are following through the Award.
Path A
Students from several different schools compete against each other on a national level. They will first have to pass the qualification round within their particular school and be judged by the tutors. After the school representatives have decided who to qualify, the student need to prepare all entries as outlined as outlined in “entries and forms” in order to be judged in the National Final.
Path B
Within the school there will be a qualification round. After the school representatives have decided who to send to the final, all entries of the student have to be prepared in order to be judged in the National Final.
Path C
The students have to prepare all entries in order to be judged in the National Final without a qualification round beforehand.
Entries and forms
In order to enter the National Final of the Triumph Inspiration Award students must submit all of the material outlined below for an entry to be valid.
1. Entry form (template provided by Triumph)
2. Curriculum vitae
3. Concept outlining the research, approach, idea and interpretation at one page in A4 format
4. Imagery
It can include anything, from sketchbook drawings, coloured outlines, technical drawings, photos or any kind of imagery that supports the design concept, including ideas on presentation but not exceeding the maximum of 10 pictures.
5. Showpiece: bra and brief

The student’s entry may include additions like accessories, if they are required/ desired for the presentation of their showpiece to complete the design vision.
The overall styling will have an impact on the jury decision, but the items added will not be judged individually. The showpiece bra and brief remain the core elements of the showpiece. The student is responsible for providing all accessories and/or supporting material.
6. Suggestions on presentation
Anything the students feel supports the presentation of your concept piece. This may include suggestions on fitting, or anything the students consider being important for a good presentation. They may choose to provide these suggestions in written form or in the form of images/drawings, or suchlike.

Jury and judging criteria
In the National Finals the entries will be judged by a national panel of renowned experts from the fields of fashion, design and media, selected by the national Triumph office. A school representative will be part of the national panel, in order to guarantee expertise and judging fairness.
Both the national and the international juries will judge all valid entries according to these criteria:
• Innovation and creativity interpreting „female fascination“
(relevance to the theme)
• Individuality and uniqueness
• Concept (approach, design strategy)
• Aesthetics
• Quality (design and execution)
• Presentation / show effect
Inspiration is at the heart of this Award. Although the quality of the work will be judged, it is only one of several criteria.
The members of the jury will decide the winners. The decisions of the jury members in both the National and the International Finals are final and cannot be challenged.
Costs and insurances
All costs associated with submitting an entry (e.g. postage or textiles) are to be borne by the students. They will also be responsible for dispatching the entry correctly (e.g. sending it in time, adequate postage). Triumph is responsible for dispatching all first-place winning items (showpieces and written concepts) to the International Final.
Normal good care will be taken when handling the entries. However, no responsibility will be taken by the organizers for damage or losses incurred in the transport or processing of any component of the entries.
